FAQs

What is Therapy?

Psychotherapy is a talk-based therapy that uses psychological techniques to facilitate positive changes in personality, behaviour or adjustment. Therapy is intended to help you improve and maintain your mental health and well-being.

Your therapist is trained to use various therapeutic modalities to help you understand why you feel stuck. You have the power to break unhealthy patterns and behaviours, while being guided by your therapist.

Your therapist can help you work towards handling stress, managing your emotions and relationships and begin the healing process.

Insurance Coverage

Most private insurance companies cover the fees for psychotherapy. Please contact your insurance company prior to your first session to ensure you have coverage for psychotherapy services. We will provide a receipt for our service which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Once a receipt is issued, we will not be able to make any changes.

At this time, we do not offer direct billing to insurance companies.

In-Person or Virtual Therapy

Clients can remain in the comfort of their home or private area while we conduct virtual therapy through a secure TeleHealth platform. It feels as if we are face-to-face. We are able to see some clients by referral in-person in North Toronto. Contact us to determine if there is in-person availability at info@torontopsychotherapycentre.com
